I partake in quite a few of the SCA's martial activities, and actually am a warranted marshal (safety officer) for each of those that I am involved in as well. On top of that, I have done some related research into making my "kit" a bit more appropriate to my persona.

Target Archery has been a hobby of mine since I was about 10 years old. It could be said that archery is one of the factors that got me involved in the SCA in the first place. I am certainly not the best archer in the Kingdom, but I enjoy myself and enjoy teaching others how to shoot. I have gone through the National Archery Association's Instructor Certification course as well. Not only is this certification recognized by other archery facilities (sometimes necesary for their use), but I learned some good stuff for teaching new and existing archers how to shoot.

Thrown Weapons is excellent fun. I mean, who can pass on throwing all kinds of sharp and pointy things at large chunks of wood? I am currently ranked as a Huntsman (average of 80 or better) and have been ranked among the top 10 throwers in the Kingdom of AEthelmearc.

(Heavy) Armoured Combat is something I have wanted to do ever since I first saw it at Pennsic 18. Now I am authorized in every weapons form allowed on the filed (including combat archery and siege). As a former Kingdom Combat Archery Commander, spreading information and training new combat archers is one of my passions. Another is my work to maintain and improve the martial authenticity of my armour and weapons used on the armoured combat field. Additionally, I tend to run regular or at least semi-regular workshops to assist people in building or fixing their own armour or assemble combat-legal weapons for SCA use.
