At Pennsic XXXVI, the Dominion of Myrkfaelinn presented gifts to Their-then Sylvan Majesties, Rurik and Angelik. In proper Viking style (for both Them and us), I produced a miniature version of the Mastermyr chest to hold it all.

Made from poplar, all measurements of the orginal were shrunk by 50%. I also used hand-tools for most of the construction. Small hinges hold the lid - I could not find banded hinges of a suitable size, nor a lock/latch.

Once complete, I burned two runic enscriptions on the chest. The front reads "Besta vörnin vid myrkit er kerti logazk", Old Icelandic for "The best defense against the dark is a lighted candle" - the Myrkfaelinn motto. On the inside bottom "It is all Johnny's fault" is burned in a runic script - another of Myrkfaelinn's mottos.
